Poplar Square Art Boards

Have you heard of Poplar before? Did you know the Mona Lisa by Da Vinci is an oil painting on an Italian Poplar painting surface.

Frame made from premium grade kiln dried pine. 

The top surface is made with 6mm thick A Grade Italian Poplar , with the sides sanded flush so the top and frame join is perfectly smooth.

Total depth of the board is 38mm (32mm frame, 6mm top) making it a great depth if you are adding a floating frame.

Smaller art boards use 32 x 18mm timber for the frame. larger art boards use 32 x 32mm timber. As the size gets larger corner bracing and centre bracing is included. (50 x 50cm pictured)

These painting panels are perfect for a variety of mediums. Resin art, Acrylic painting, Oil Painting, encaustics and more  

They are a lighter and cheaper option than the 6mm birch ply but with the same quality construction.  The Italian Poplar surface has all the advantages of using a ridged panel but at a lighter weight than other surfaces, much more comparable to the weight of a stretched canvas
